Enjoy March Madness and at the same time help support an incoming freshman at Saint Mary’s. The money raised from the March Madness Pool will continue building funds for the Shakir Stewart Empowerment Fund.
Buying a $50.00 bracket may win you $1,000.00. For another $25.00, you can also participate in the Sweet Sixteen pool for an additional $500.00. You can purchase as many brackets as you want. To register for March Madness, you can return to this site to register online.

How to participate in the Saint Mary’s March Madness Event
Players completely fill out the NCAA brackets for the field of 64 teams, predicting the winner of every game. Points are awarded for every game picked correctly. The winner(s) having the most total points. The 2012 NCAA Tournament Final Four will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana March 31st and April 2nd 2012 at the Superdome. The First Four dates are now confirmed and will occur on March 13-14, 2012 at the UD Arena in Dayton, Ohio. Atlanta, Phoenix, Boston, and St. Louis are hosting the regionals.
There will be a total of 68 teams in the 2012 NCAA tournament with 31 automatic bids from conferences. 30 of the 31 automatic bids are determined by conference tournaments with the Ivy League awarding their automatic bid to the regular season champion.
The NCAA Selection Committee will choose the remaining 37 teams for at-large bids. The four lowest-seed at-large teams and automatic qualifiers will play in the First Four. As a result, the seeds of the at-large teams chosen to play in the First Four are not known until Selection Sunday announcements are made confirming the 2012 NCAA tournament field.
Selection Sunday will occur on March 11th, 2012.
Participation in the March Madness Pool People can participate in the pool by purchasing a bracket, or a couple of brackets, for $50.00 per bracket. Once the school receives the $50.00, a link will be sent to the participant by email to complete.
Deadline
The deadline for registering and entering submissions is on the night of the first game. We need at least 30 entrees for the game to go.
How to play
Contestants must pick the winners of the 63 games in the 2012 Bracket Contest, including the final four teams and eventual champion. If a Play-In game (seeds 64 & 65) is held, this game is not included nor is the consolation game between the losers of the semi-final games.
The Bracket
Once the bracket has been submitted, the contestant is officially participating. Submitted brackets are final. Bracket picks cannot be changed once the bracket has been submitted and requests to make changes to a submitted bracket will be ignored. The games will be scored and the bracket will be updated at the end of each round.
Point System
The Point System is as follows:
1st Round = 1 pts
2nd Round = 2 pts
3rd Round = 4 pts
4th Round = 8 pts
5th Round = 12 pts
6th Round = 16 pts
Prize Structure
Prizes will be determined by the correct picks in the bracket and the cumulative total of points scored by each contestant. In the event of a tie, cash prizes will be split between those who tied. Winners will be notified by E-mail, phone, mail and /or overnight courier within seven (7) days after the determination date.
