Community Block

Community Block is a thirty-minute period held each Wednesday morning in which approximately 20 students are grouped by grade level to address a variety of relevant issues facilitated by a faculty member.  For seniors in the Fall semester, these topics often center around the college application process.  More often, these sessions are used to encourage students' critical thinking and moral development.  Topics range from issues of academic stress and peer pressure to matters of social justice, school policy, and values identification.  Always at its core are Lasallian Catholic values of personal ethics, morality, and concern for others.   The approach in C-Block is to guide students in a dialogic process by which different ideas, opinions, and views are shared, debated, and discussed.
