Parent Support: The Annual Fund

Every Saint Mary’s family is expected to make a significant gift to the school’s Annual Fund according to each family’s capability. While tuition provides the primary means by which the school’s operating expenses are funded, it does not cover the true cost of educating the whole child. Saint Mary’s is an independent, private Catholic school and receives no funding from federal, state or local governments or the Diocese of Oakland.

The outstanding academic curriculum, extensive co-curricular programs, and truly special campus community is in large part a testament to the spirit of philanthropy demonstrated by the generous members of the Saint Mary’s community. A strong Annual Fund helps us remain steadfast in our commitment to educate our students into young men and women of intellect, faith, and integrity.

As a way to honor our donors’ wishes and allow you to match your personal philanthropic preferences we have restructured our Annual Fund Campaign. You may now choose to support an area of the school that traditionally benefits from Annual Fund resources:

Academics Arts Athletics
Faith Formation Tuition Assistance Unrestricted

Your gift is important and your participation is significant. The Annual Fund is a catalyst for turning individual generosity into collective energy. It is a tradition that supports Saint Mary’s top priority: her students.

If you would like to be part of a great group of parent volunteers and help with the 2011 – 2012 campaign, or if you would like to discuss your gift to the Annual Fund, please contact Martha Kariv, at 510.559.6238 or mkariv@stmchs.org.
