Enrichment Week
Enrichment Week 2027: March 8-12
Enrichment Week is Saint Mary's signature program for learning beyond the traditional classroom — a chance for students to trade the regular schedule for a week of hands-on, real-world experiences that complement their academic coursework. Courses blend grade levels by design, giving upper-division students the chance to serve as role models and mentors for their younger peers. With the exception of our Immersions, most Enrichment Week courses are open to all grade levels, creating a genuinely cross-campus learning community.
Enrichment Week is a mandatory, integral part of the Saint Mary's experience. Each student chooses a course with their family from a catalog that mixes academic, travel, cultural and/or career-exploration, and recreational options. Because Enrichment Week sits outside the regular curriculum, courses carry fees covering materials, equipment, some meals, and/or transportation.
Our Mission
Saint John Baptist de La Salle envisioned an education built on a fraternal relationship between teacher and student — Lasallian Educators immersed in the life of their students, sharing their interests, their worries, and their hopes. Not schoolmasters imparting truths, but older brothers and sisters helping students discern the call of the Spirit, better understand what is real, recognize their own abilities, and progressively discover their place in the world.
Enrichment Week is one of the clearest expressions of Saint Mary's mission to educate the whole person — intellectually, spiritually, physically, and socially — while building community. It gives every student a dedicated week to grow in ways the regular curriculum doesn't always allow.
Travel Programs
Overnight travel is a cornerstone of Enrichment Week: cultural, educational, and at times language-immersion experiences where students and faculty travel and live together. Every trip includes mandatory preparation sessions beforehand, so students get to know one another before departure, and time together afterward to reflect and share stories and photos. Each trip travels with faculty or staff chaperones, with staffing adjusted to enrollment, and fees typically cover airfare, transportation, lodging, and most meals.
Immersion Program
The Lasallian Educational Mission calls the Brothers of the Christian Schools to "provide a human and Christian education to the young, especially the poor." Our Immersion Program lives that call directly: students step outside familiar routines to experience life from another point of view, encountering some of the conditions faced by the marginalized of our world. Through the lens of Catholic Social Teaching, participants engage real questions of human rights and social justice — and in coming to understand the experience of the "other," come to better appreciate their own circumstances.
This March, our Immersion trips travel to:
- La Salle Bamboo School — Sangkhlaburi, Thailand with Ms. Fernandez & Mr. Alvarez
- St. LaSalle School — Keelamudiman, India with Mr. Kelly & Ms. Khan
- De La Salle Blackfeet School — Browning, Montana with Mr. Graham
- El Otro Lado: San Miguel High School — Tucson, Arizona with Ms. Guervara
