FAQ: Parent Support

Saint Mary’s Annual Fund

Frequently Asked Questions:

Why give as a parent?

Because your participation matters. When combined with gifts from alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, faculty, staff as well as foundations and corporations, the collective resources from the Annual Fund provide significant help to the school in serving the needs of our students.

Why doesn’t tuition cover the full cost of educating a student at Saint Mary’s?

The school remains steadfast in her commitment to making a quality Saint Mary’s education accessible. A full-cost tuition would make attending Saint Mary’s out of reach for many of our families.

How much should I/we give?

Because every family’s capability is unique we do not ask for equal gifts, but rather equal commitment.

How is the Student Fundraiser distinguished from the Annual Fund?

Essentially it is a community building opportunity for students to say they care about one another and value every one of the members of the community in a supportive way, especially those who come from families that rely on tuition assistance to attend Saint Mary’s. It is also a chance for students to partner with the many tuition assistance donors in the wider community. At its core it celebrates the diversity of Saint Mary’s working together. Contributions to the Student Fundraiser are not a substitute for contributions to the Annual Fund.

Can I designate my gift to a specific area of a Saint Mary’s education?

In order to better honor donor wishes, you may choose to support one of the following program areas:

 Academics                                      Arts                        Tuition Assistance

 Faith Formation                           Athletics                Unrestricted

What is the Saint La Salle Society?

The Saint La Salle Society is comprised of donors whose total contribution to Saint Mary’s is $1,500 or greater during the fiscal year (July 1 – June 30). We realize that not every family can participate in the Annual Fund at this level; however it is our expectation that those families who have the resources will join the Saint La Salle society with an appropriate gift. This year’s special appreciation event for Saint La Salle members will be held on October 2nd.
