The Director of Teaching & Learning at Saint Mary’s College High School is a mission-driven instructional leader responsible for advancing excellence in teaching and learning across the curriculum. Rooted in the Lasallian tradition of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, the Director promotes high-quality, student-centered instruction by coaching faculty, strengthening curriculum and assessment practices, and fostering a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement.

Serving as a key member of the school’s academic leadership team, the Director reports to the Principal and works in close partnership with the Dean of Academics, department chairs, and program leaders to support the integrity and growth of the academic program. The Director plays a central role in developing faculty capacity, supporting professional learning, and ensuring that instructional practices reflect the school’s commitment to excellence, inclusion, and the dignity of every student.

The Director is actively engaged in the classroom, teaching six sections each year out of a possible ten. This involvement ensures that instructional leadership is grounded in the daily experiences of teaching
and learning.
