Casino Night

Over 40 alumni, parents, faculty and friends of Saint Mary’s came together on a beautiful Saturday evening for a fun “Las Vegas” themed Casino Night Fundraiser. The Roulette wheel was spinning, dice were rolling and the cards were flipping all evening on the Poker and Blackjack tables. The bar offered three specialty beverages, with a Vegas twist, to enhance the theme and appetizers were flowing to keep everyone full.

Thank you to everyone who came out, dressed up and had a blast. All proceeds went to Tuition Assistance for the school. We look forward to another fun and successful evening next year!

1964 60 year Reunion

Saturday, March 16th  the Class of 1964 celebrated their 60 year Reunion.  Over 30 members of the class gathered to spend time with their classmates. The group socialized in the Shea Student Life Center, told great stories and caught up with each other. They were led in prayer by Tom Brady '54 who was a teacher on campus when they were students. The class enjoyed drinks, a catered BBQ and then a tour of the Field, Gym, Auditorium and the Chapel, which many members had never seen before. It was a wonderful afternoon on campus.

Alumni Soccer Game

On Saturday, December 23rd the alumni office hosted the annual Alumni Soccer Game. The weather was perfect and the soccer was even better. This year, for the first time, we were able to hold an alumni game for the girls as well! It was quite a match as the current varsity team edged out the alumni team, 10-8, in a thrilling battle that featured 5 goals from junior standout Tallulah Alatorre. The intensity continued for the boys game as the "older alum" knocked off the younger alum 10-7 in the afternoon match. This game featured over 30 alumni returning to Peralta Park to play, including Wyatt Meyer Class of 2020 who was last week's #11 overall pick in the 2024 MLS draft, by the Nashville SC. Congrats Wyatt on all your success!

Thank you to all who came to play! We look forward to seeing everyone at our next event.

World Series Champion

Our very own Panther and ‘08 Alum Marcus Semien is now a World Series champion, as the Texas Rangers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks to claim their first World Series Title in team history.

While batting .341, Marcus hit his 2nd home run of the series in the 9th inning of Game 5 to clinch the series for the Rangers. Having graduated from Saint Mary’s in 2008 as a stellar Student-Athlete, he helped lead the basketball team to the State Championship game that year, in addition to being a star on the baseball diamond that spring. Marcus would go on to play baseball at the University of California, Berkeley (CAL) before becoming a professional baseball player in 2013, where he was called up by the Chicago White Sox.  Now in his 10th Major League Baseball season he adds World Series Champion to his impressive resume, along with the major league record for number of home runs by a Second Baseman!!

A huge congrats to Marcus and his family.
