Panthers Compete at North Coast Section Division II Championship

Monday, October 27, 2025 - Saint Mary’s Girls Golf team traveled to Baywood Country Club in Arcata, CA to take part in the North Coast Section Division II Girls Golf Championship. The 18-hole event brought together top golfers from across the region, all vying for a spot in next week’s Division I North Coast Section Championship in Windsor.
Leading the way for the Panthers was senior Chloe Quevy, who carded a 95, finishing 16th overall in the field. With the top 18 players advancing, Chloe’s steady play earned her a spot in next week’s championship round.
Valerie Moore finished second for the Panthers with a 104, while sophomore Maya Deinanke followed with a 117. Juniors Mia Nguyen and Mila Sanchez rounded out the lineup, each contributing consistent rounds on a challenging course.
The Panthers showcased their steady play and sportsmanship throughout the day, continuing a season defined by growth, teamwork, and competitive spirit. Representing Saint Mary’s on one of the toughest stages in the section, the team demonstrated the poise and consistency that have been the hallmarks of their year.

Girls Golf Extends Winning Streak to Five with 3-0 Week
Thursday, October 9, 2025 - The Saint Mary’s girls golf team continues to roll, extending their winning streak to five after an impressive 3-0 week. The Panthers dominated their opponents with strong individual performances and consistent team play.
On Tuesday, senior Chloe Quevy and freshman Valerie Moore led the way with stellar rounds of 29, guiding Saint Mary’s to a 126-143 victory over Salesian.
Wednesday saw the Panthers take on St. Patrick-St. Vincent, defeating the Bruins 138-151. Freshman Valerie Moore once again led the team with a 33, showing no signs of slowing down.
The week concluded on Thursday with a rematch against Salesian. In a closely contested battle, Saint Mary’s edged out the Lions 130-138, highlighted by Valerie Moore’s impressive 32.
Next up, the Panthers face Berkeley and Albany in a tripleheader on Tuesday, followed by a showdown with Albany on Thursday to celebrate Senior Day. The team looks to keep their momentum going as they approach the final stretch of the season.

Tuesday, September 23, 2025 - The Saint Mary’s Panthers girls golf team teed off against Albany High School on a warm afternoon at Tilden Park Golf Course in the first of two matchups for the top spot in the TCAL standings.
The Panthers opened strong with a birdie and a pair of pars on the first hole, but golf is a game of patience and consistency. Over the six-hole competition, it was Albany who minimized mistakes and came away with the 127–142 victory.
Leading the way for Saint Mary’s was senior Chloe Quevy, posting a team-best score of 30. Maya Denianke followed with a 36, while juniors Mila Sanchez and Mia Nguyen each contributed rounds of 38.
The Panthers will return to action on Thursday, when they face El Cerrito back at Tilden Park Golf Course. Tee time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

September 4, 2025 - The Saint Mary’s Girls Golf team kicked off their season on the road at Berkeley Country Club, facing league opponent El Cerrito. Despite some early-season rust, the Panthers put together a strong performance, earning a convincing 30-stroke victory to open their campaign.
Freshman Valerie Moore set the tone for the day, shooting a 37 through 7 holes in her high school debut. She was joined by strong rounds from juniors Mia Nguyen (37 through 6 holes) and Mila Sanchez (38 through 6 holes). Sophomore Valentina Dalo also made an immediate impact in her first outing for the Panthers, finishing with a 37.
With a mix of youth and experience, the Panthers are poised for growth as the season progresses. They return to action next Thursday when they face Jesse Bethel at Blue Rock Golf Course in Vallejo.
