Patrick Rau

Head Coach Patrick Rau (’01) enters his second season at the helm of the Boys & Girls Varsity Golf programs at Saint Mary’s College High School following his first season as the head coach. In his first season leading both programs, Rau led the teams to their respective Tri County Athletic League (TCAL) Titles and NCS Playoff Berths. Rau, a native of Richmond, California, and an alum of Saint Mary’s from the class of 2001, played golf all four years while he was a student-athlete at Peralta Park. He was also named captain of the Varsity Boys Golf program his Senior season where he amassed a stroke average of 38.5 per 9 holes.

Following his time at Saint Mary’s College High School as a student-athlete, Rau went on to attend his eventually alma mater, San Diego State University.

Rau is married with two children where his daughter currently attends UC Berkeley, while his son has entered his freshman year at Saint Mary’s College High School. He also still resides in his hometown of Richmond. He also currently the head coach of the JV Girls Basketball Team as well.
