President Search 2023-2024: Updates

Dear SMCHS Community,
Happy New Year!
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am pleased to share another update on our search for the next President of Saint Mary’s College High School.
During December, our President Search Committee screened and selected a small number of candidates to move forward in the selection process. By the end of January, we will invite 2 or 3 candidates to campus to meet with the Board of Trustees. In addition to meeting with the Board of Trustees, the candidates will have an opportunity to tour campus and meet with a select group of students, faculty and staff, administrators, the Brothers, and others. We expect (hope) that at least one of the candidates will successfully move to the next phase of the selection process, which includes due diligence reference checks, approval by the De La Salle Christian Brothers District of San Francisco New Orlean's' Lasallian Education Corporation (LEC), and a formal offer of employment. If all goes well, we expect to be able to share good news with you in February.
We are grateful that our search efforts were so successful in yielding an impressive slate of candidates. And we are grateful to our SMCHS community for their support throughout the process. Thank you for your prayers as we enter the final phases of our selection process.

Dear SMCHS Community,
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am pleased to share an update on our search for the next President of Saint Mary’s College High School.
First, thank you for contributing your ideas through listening sessions or through our on-line listening survey. Your perspectives on what’s important to look for in our next President were an important consideration in finalizing the position profile.
We have cast a wide net to attract the highest quality candidates for the position. And we have good news to report. Our on-line posts and community networking have yielded more than 70 inquiries into the position. While not all 70 candidates will be qualified, we feel very confident that our sourcing efforts will be successful in identifying a small slate of excellent candidates for consideration.
The application deadline is Thursday, November 30, 2023. During December, our President Search Committee will screen and select a small number of candidates to move forward in the selection process. If you know of qualified candidates that you’d like to recommend, please send us your suggestions as soon as possible – it is not too late!
We look forward to sharing more updates in early January.
