Boy's Tennis Team Picks Up 1st Win of 2022 Season
March 1st, 2022
Vallejo, CA - The Boy's Tennis team, coming off a heart-breaking 4-3 defeat at the hands of Albany on Monday afternoon, rebounded with a dominant 7-0 win against St. Patrick-St. Vincent (SPSV) on Tuesday. SPSV had only had 7 players and had to forfeit #4 singles and #3 doubles, giving the Panthers an early 2-0 advantage. From there, dominate play at both singles and doubles propelled the team to an easy 7-0 win.  Freshman Nathan Joffe played a particularly close match at #3 singles, starting the match strong, hitting with heavy topspin and pushing his opponent back. After winning the first set 7-5, "Nathan's confidence seemed to grow", according to coach Nguyen, as he closed out the second set 6-2.
