Joe Lofton

 

Head Flag Football Coach, Joe Lofton, begins his first year at tJLhe helm in Saint Mary’s College High School’s inaugural season of Girl’s Flag Football. Lofton comes to the Panthers with five years of head coaching experience within the sport. In those five years, Lofton was the head coach of the flag football program at Immaculate Conception Academy in San Francisco where he spent two years, and then another three years coaching at various middle school and elementary programs all over the East Bay.

 

In hist two years at Immaculate Conception Academy, Lofton coached two players who won Offensive Players of the Year awards, one player who won a Defensive 2nd Team Player of the year award, and three players who won a AAA SF League Honorable Mention awards.

 

On a personal note, Lofton grew up in Richmond, California, who attended St. Ignatius College Prep where he starred for both the football and track & field programs for the Wildcats. Following his high school years, Lofton went on to Sonoma State University where he played two seasons for the Seawolves’ rugby program.

 

In addition to his head coaching role, Lofton is also a Kindergarten teacher in Richmond. Some of his hobbies away from the game are going to the gym, spending time with family and friends at fun places in the Bay Area, and finding new places to travel.

 

Lofton currently lives in Oakland, California with his two-year old Dachshund named Kobe. He is also the nephew of former MLB All-Star, Kenny Lofton, and is the cousin of former NFL linebacker, Curtis Lofton.
