okay everybody I'm going to go ahead and start this is the enrichment Week Washington DC and New York trip and my name is I'm going to go ahead and share my screen with you guys here will presentation we can get we can go ahead and follow along a little bit and this will give us just brief sort overview of the trip to Washington DC in New York trip I'm Mister Rogers and I'll be one of the two chaperones on the trip yellow going to be my wife mrs. Rogers and there she is the capital and my 26-year is Saint Mary I teach AP u.s. History and I also teach AP government and politics I'm going to go head track and cross country coaches and internship enrichment wig this will be my ninth trip I think it starts at 6 trip to Washington in New York so we have done this before I actually plan the trip myself so we don't use a travel company on this one so I will do all of the all the logistical set up and everything pretty good at it actually I'm just being a 6 time around Adventure travel I will leave on a Monday Monday morning early and will fly directly from San Francisco to Washington d.c. other Dulles or Reagan National or not sure I see where we get the best deal and then I will spend three days three full days in Washington and then on Thursday morning I will take the train Amtrak up to New York City I get into Penn Station and then we spent three days in New York Thursday Friday Saturday and it would come home on and there's a group in 2016 at the 2016 group an SS in the capital in the Rotunda briefly in Washington we do a lot of these are full days the morning too late at night but we will see the capital will see Supreme Court I will go outside of the White House will go inside the White House I love the Holocaust Museum the African American Museum of History and art are its spectacular all the memorial is Lincoln Jefferson rights of Vietnam cetera I love going to the National Portrait Gallery we were going to Georgetown as matter fact we'll stay just across the bridge from Georgetown that's where a hotel in Virginia so that's that's kind of a run-down and we'll spread that stuff out over three days but that's just some of it in New York I see the picture there that's for some of the students that is Miss Chua who is now a teacher at St Mary's and that was the trip that she went on with my group in back in 2015 and they went to The Late Show Stephen Air Show IMAX theater and but for for New York I will I will go out to the Statue of Liberty I will do the 9/11 Museum will go downtown Statue of Liberty 9/11 Museum on the same day I will somebody over here to Brooklyn and walk back across the Brooklyn Bridge will go to Washington Square Park and an NYU that area down there Times Square Rockefeller Center Central Park will be down in the village when we're done Washington Square Park Columbia so it's sort of a mix of the two. it's sort of a mix of history and government and educational really like I really believe in playing at times to have some you know can see some sites so so let's see so bad at some things that you need to know this picture by the way was taken so we went to our 2016 trip 10 was just getting really big and so we were able to meet up for the infirmary with daveed Diggs I went to Berkeley High School and our students were Savvy enough to be able to yell with him as he was coming out or we saw Hamilton and then asked you was coming out they started yelling Berkeley High and things and so he he heard it and he came over and pose for some pictures of talking this for a while so that was kind of exciting but things that you need to know just a logistically applications for this trip or any trip I'm sure you guys I'm afraid this numerous times now or do on Tuesday September 27th Miss molinelli says if you can't meet that deadline then you will just add best to go right to the waiting list for any of these trip so make sure that your applications are in by Tuesday for any of the trips that you may be thinking for our trip were thinking around 20 students you know me and my wife there so twenties about the number I think it was thinking students you'll need to attend a meeting with Miss mirmelli or she's Dover behavioral expectations before she hand you an application and a student parent contract so that's that's how you'll actually get those depending on the numbers they may be you are utilizing priority numbers this year and I don't know if you guys have been around you know when they do that it's kind of like a lottery for our trip specifically the one thing I would say I think it's a great trip I think it's super occasionally if you know if you guys talked to Miss Chua or or a few of the other teachers on campus who have been on this trip and they will tell you that that they've gone out of the chips and they just absolutely it was our favorite trip so so a lot of fun to be had but there is a lot of walking on this trip so and when I say a lot I mean they'll be days where it's between 9 and 10 Mile so if that if that doesn't suit you well this certainly is not your trip and that's kind of here. Was this is the 20 18 group I think it's 2018 or 19 I'm sorry are there any questions for anybody that I have that I might be able to answer questions I'm going to go to the chat Jay food lodging and price look like free time the distance from Dillon who's in my class alright Dylan lodging will be hotels of course we will stay in Roslyn when when Washington was his just across the bridge from Georgetown and it's right near you know it's 11 subway stop from George Washington University was actually get off a lot of food I thought of the hotels will have breakfast lunch you'll have to buy your own lunch and normally your own dinner although we may build in a couple of group dinners in there are we planning on going to a theater show in New York absolutely yes all the week don't always always go to the steam show there are times when we may have two or three different groups you know one may go see Book of Mormon 1st in Phantom and want to see in Hamilton or something like that and then we just for the meat back up if you have family in these places I can you have them meet us somewhere. possibility you know we have to be careful with that it depends on who and where I mean we can't really go outside of what we're doing to accommodate that but we've had times when grandparents at Batman and Matt and had lunch or dinner with with a student so there's a possibility there but but that'll be on a on a case-by-case basis are the kids going to be on their own at times I yes at times but all that means is this so we are your sweet just I'm out of the Supreme Court is 12:30 or 1 we're on our way to the White House but it's lunch time so we walk up the block and we say okay it's lunch time now you guys stay he in a few three or four block radius stay in groups you guys go get some food and I will meet you back here in an hour and 10 minutes just things like that might do the same thing in Time Square some people want to go to the M&M factory some people want to go you know but but but that's the extent of it for the most part that we stored in the stand together on and it doesn't seem to be problematic it's you know it's actually in some ways his preferred it feels like is there a deposit required with the application and how much is the closet that's more of a Miss Mullen La question but I think what they're going to do is is as I think they're going to break it up into three payments is what I'm hearing I assume they're going to be equal payments Miss Miley has her hand up she's actually here joining us you want to take this one this moment this is Officer makes it a little bit easier with the application is just literally the application the parent student contract that I will I will distribute after the student come meet with me this week either tomorrow or Wednesday Thursday Friday 3 opportunities on stupid plan according time to be responsible and make a meeting and read emails in the email and on the website if you would go to the website to a website with free Merchant week everything is there including itineraries including flyer including the zoom light recordings from last night and I will add those tomorrow from tonight so everything is now in that one place on the website so you all the information at your fingertips and then the app I do with no deposit applications on the stoop contract is due on Tuesday the 27th so a week from tonight everything is in anything after that date is a late will be place that's just replace on a waiting list Jason of course but if not this is about maturity and responsibility if you are able to read emails if you were able to hit deadlines then that's the first hoop you have to jump through to be responsible enough to travel during enrichment week hope that answers that question that's good for me are there any other questions all I can say you guys is that it's been a great trip the five other times we've done it I think it's the perfect blend of of you know the educational component that but I mean when you're doing that in the context of walking around the city and and being with your friends and taking pictures taking funny picture some time writing all we do is take public transportation so it's the metro in Washington is the Subway in New York City which is a whole nother way to express you know it's a whole nother experience. That's my plug I think it's great and I'm hopefully you guys will be there on the trip with us there are no other questions just be reminded that back to your contract your application is due on the 27th but you have to seamless molinelli I think she's going to have a meeting is that right I miss my line with everybody so that they can get their contract so once you attend a meeting the meeting will be about 10 minutes tomorrow so Wednesday and Thursday during a walk right at the Bell whenever that is and then Friday at lunch so there's three opportunities you only have to attend one ten-minute meeting and after you've attended the meeting you'll be given both the application and the parents contracts I really want to go over and I really want to be very clear about the expectations and make sure that we're all set up for success for really amazing enrichment week and this is really a great trip Mister Rogers been doing this one for many years and it's pretty memorable okay everybody if there's no other I'll hang around for a minute or two otherwise I hope to see you on the trip thanks for stopping and thank you thank you okay thank you oh that was Mexico can I ask a question about about the first and second choices of the students planning on traveling and they have it and you know how you have to get after the first and second choice today fill out two separate application for I mean just I don't know how that works like the kids so they can pick 3 and put them in there they just need to be flexible because because we won't be able to come and eat everybody's First Choice so they need to be flexible about the places and they need to be okay with the fact that they might get their third choice but at least it's still an amazing experience something's just pick one and they said if I can't go on that I don't want to go and that's okay too that's happened every year also could you speak a little bit more and even briefly about a payment plan that was then if I missed out on that information earlier it's it will be so we're no deposit so once we get the final rosters to the business office Bill Bill families and I'll be do it's now on like I said earlier it's on a new system so they will the bill they can use one of those people some parents are paid in one some parents can pay it over three segments and then people who needs a little more additional time they just contact the business office and make arrangements we've always been accommodate people pay structures good night is that it
