hello everybody assumes to Rogers and I am leaving the enrichment week trip to Washington d.c. in New York I apologize for everybody my zoom link somehow the meeting disappeared from zoom in so I had no way of fixing that so so this is the record this will be my travel trip and like I said we'll be going to Washington and New York a couple photos on the left there that is last week's last group on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and and then I'm back in 2017 that's a student Washington Square Park with a pigeon on his head so we will be by 27th St Mary's as most of you know I teach AP US History and AP government and politics I'm one of the co-head track coaches and cross country coaches and like I said earlier missing my tent enrichment week trip I think 6 or 7 I think 7 x 7 trip to Washington and to New York the dates of the trip will be Monday the 4th of March I will leave early out of San Francisco and will return the following Sunday on the 10th also back into San Francisco the three days in Washington sort of a travel day I will take the train up to New York and then 3 days in New York when were in Washington there's a lot to do a lot to see we will take a tour of the Capitol will go to Supreme Court overrule get it to nearest we will not go inside the White House but we'll go by the White House my two favorite museums of the Holocaust Museum in the African American Museum of History will go to both for those who see all the memorials National Portrait Gallery I love that Wilt or Georgetown University we'll take the metro everywhere so it's ground transportation everywhere really a lot of fun out of students seem to enjoy and then we will travel up to New York City where we will take in a Broadway show will go to the 911 museum will walk across the Brooklyn Bridge will go down to Louis play Washington Square Park we will go by NYU and Columbia will go through Central Park plenty of Times Square to Rockefeller Center etcetera etcetera so and that picture there are you can see into 15 that is actually made two of their on the right when she was a student so she was on the trip and in New York City obviously is is is rich in in history as well as entertainment both City are are great for that I think the trip is a really good mix of history and government and fun and so I once again looking forward to it applications are due on Tuesday October 3rd that's for everybody for any travel trip I'm sure miss Mullen Elliot told you that in her emails the way you get on this trip or any other trip is the priority I think they're saying an email address there on romanum number 3 if you just want to follow what we did we have a Running Blog on our trip so you can kind of see how the week will go with a lot of fun lot of pictures lot of stories it's a written blog so more general eweek information obviously can be found on the school's website and just just one for the big FYI there's a lot of walking on this trip I would take somewhere between you know 89 maybe up to 10 miles a day lots of walking so if you're going to go on this trip you have to be prepared for that and the picture here by the way is taken in 2016 that's when Hamilton was just you know it was just out and it was the hottest thing going and we actually met up with Diggs after the show we all went to the show and and he went to Berkeley High School so our kids had a way of of of of letting him know that he is an Oaklandish Oaklandish on as you can see so so as he was trying to get to his car he kind of came over and and engaged us that was kind of nice and then again I was expecting this this meeting to be on Zoom live to take questions and forcing that's not going to happen but I look forward to seeing all of you guys or as many as we can we're going to take about 20 or so on the trip and that's this photo was taken from the Brooklyn Bridge in a walking into Manhattan and that was last year's group and we look forward to it and I hope to see you there okay bye
